16th Annual Scallop and Music Festival

Mark your calendars for August 3rd and 4th!

We are still looking for volunteers.  Please email Michelle at michelle@gulfchamber.org if you would like to be involved in the festival this year. Volunteers will work work a 2-hr shift and receive a volunteer tshirt and free admission!

Media Opportunity in conjuction with Scallop Festival

The Star and the Scallop Festival are teaming up to produce a Schedule of Events tab for the Aug 2nd paper and to pass out at the Festival. Click flyer for More Details!

This is a great opportunity to have a presence at the festival and reach thousands of attendees.

Network At Noon

The next luncheon will be July 25th, at Bailey's Crab House in St. Joe Beach. Our speaker will be from the Better Business Bureau and the topic is "Scams Targeting Businesses". Cost is $12 per person.

Bailey's Crab House Menu: You will have your choice of Bronzed Basa Po Boy, Smoked Chicken BLT, or Bailey's Big Hoss Burger all served with one side: boiled potatoes, corn on the cob, steamed veggies, cheese grits, baked beans, mac and cheese, cole slaw, potato salad, cucumber salad, or potato chips. Arrive early to place your order!

Need VOLUNTEERS? Here is an opportunity for you!

            The Star will begin running a monthly column called “Volunteer Opportunities” on the front page of the community section of the newspaper.  It will list volunteer needs of various organizations in our area and who to call if you can help.  This service  will connect potential volunteers with groups that need their help.  Organizations can list their volunteer needs and who to contact if they can help.

            The Volunteer Opportunities column will begin in July.  It will run on July 12 and volunteer needs will need to be submitted to the Star by Monday, July 9.  Beginning in August the column will run on the first week of each month and volunteer needs must be submitted by noon on Monday.  Volunteering is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our community.  Be sure to let organizations and potential volunteers know about this new column.
