The mission of the American Red Cross is to improve the quality of human life; to enhance self-reliance and concern for others; and to help people avoid, prepare for, and cope with emergencies. It does this through services that are governed and directed by volunteers and are consistent with its congressional charter and the principles of the International Red Cross. We are the nation?s foremost volunteer emergency services organization. Our mission is to help prevent and relieve human suffering. Our nearly 2,800 chapters are located throughout the United States and its territories, and there are field stations on U. S. military installations around the world. In all, nearly 1.2 million trained Red Cross volunteers and 23,000 paid staff members help people in their communities prevent, prepare for, and cope with emergencies. In addition, more than 4 million American Red Cross volunteer blood donors generously give over 6 million units of blood each year to help others.

A Community Impact Organization helping people live better lives by collaborating to solve community problems. Did you know that there are currently 24 local United Way agencies in Gulf County offering services and assistance to families in need? The American Red Cross, Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, Boy & Girl Scouts, Gulf County Community Development Corp., and North Florida Child Development just to name a few.

We provide affordable housing assistance for low and moderate income families by helping with down payments, rehabilation of houses, and managing the SHIP program for Gulf County. We also offer free tax preparation.

Healthy Start is a program that offers pregnant women, infants and young children services that promote healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. The goals and mission of Healthy Start is to improve pregnancy outcomes, reduce infant mortality rates and to promote healthy growth and development in all children up to age three, in Bay, Gulf and Franklin counties.

North Florida's only World War II Museum. Dedicated to the Amphibious Soldiers and Sailors who trained in Franklin County before leaving for Europe and the Pacific Theaters.
