Many local artists and craftsmen will display their works, including wildlife photography, wood carvings, wooden bowls, paintings, jewelry, wearable art, and ceramics. A special event for 2008 will be a performance by the The Legendary JC?s from Orlando, FL. This band is renowned for its music. ?I?m terribly excited. I?m hoping to see everyone dancing in the streets,? says Ralph Roberson, Board President. The Saturday night event at the festival will take place at the fountain in Marina Cove. The Legendary JC?s (Joint Chiefs) will perform on the Shucker?s Stage sponsored by GAC Contractors. Bring your chairs, relax and enjoy the show! Kid?s Zone is sponsored by Bayside Savings Bank and will include coloring contests, craft activities, and other fun games for the kids - all free of charge. The RAFSG (Realtors Assn of Franklin and South Gulf County) will be volunteering on Saturday to help children in the Kid Zone!Close to the Kid?s Zone will be pony rides, rock wall climbing and other activities for the young to enjoy. There is a charge for these activities. The Food Court is sponsored by Progress Energy of Florida. The Port St. Joe Lions Club will do the honors of cooking the scallops for the fifth year in a row. This dedicated group does a fantastic job while enjoying themselves in the process. This year they will be raising money to reach their commitment goal of $50,000 for the Sacred Heart Hospital Foundation. ?We struggled trying to cook the scallops before the Lions Club became our official cooks. Trying to keep enough cooked - fresh and hot was wearing us out, reports Executive Director Sandra Chafin.? The Chamber was awarded a grant from the St. Joe Community Foundation in 2004 which made our job so much easier. The scallops can now be cooked inside an air-conditioned trailer and served to our customers ?in style?!
